Ekklēsia – Messianic Community – Church,

When were Prophets or prophetic operations made extinct? It has not occurred. To believe or teach that Prophets or prophetic operations no longer exist is a lie.

Now, it is very important for you to know and understand that being prophetic does not mean you are a Prophet or even operating by Holy Ghost {Check Acts 16:16-19}. Being prophetic is a fundamental ability of every human being. Also, keep in mind that there are two kinds of Prophets – true and false. True Prophets are susceptible to Holy Ghost while false prophets are influenced or controlled by evil spirits. So it is not the accuracy of someone’s words which qualifies them as a true Prophet; it is the source from which they come.

It is as a result of our prophetic nature that Yeshua HaMashiyach sounded the alarm – “many false prophets will appear and fool many people” (Matthew 24:11 CJB); not to make us discard, disregard or be afraid of Prophets or prophetic operations. He gave this warning knowing that the adversary is aware of how valuable the prophetic is to our lives and he always seeks to counterfeit anyone or anything of value to God.

Although there are many false prophetic operations, this does not give us the right to eliminate or stifle prophetic function. The Messianic Community was designed to live prophetically. Haven’t you chose to believe in Christ although there’s an antichrist? Do you refuse to receive money because there are counterfeit bills circulating? Likewise, we should not discriminate prophecy, prophetic operations or Prophets because of the negative possibilities. Apostle Paul issued this stern warning to Thessalonians – “Don’t suppress [Holy] Spirit. Don’t brush off [Holy] Spirit-inspired messages” (1 Thessalonians 5:19-20 CEB personalized and emphasized). Instead of discarding or disregarding prophetic function, we have to be aware, not afraid, of the possible fraud, “…examine everything carefully…hang on to what is [of God] [and] Avoid every kind of evil” (1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 CEB personalized).

So if you are a Christian – one like Christ, then you wouldn’t be brushing off prophetic operations. Such a practice is religious and more so, not of God. As Christians, we have an obligation to be like Christ in every area of our being. The truth is, we cannot be like Christ without Holy Ghost. Anyone with Holy Ghost would speak by His inspiration. Furthermore, Holy Ghost came to speak to and through us what He hears Yeshua HaMashiyach say {Check John 16:13-14}. So “Don’t suppress [Holy] Spirit. Don’t brush off [Holy] Spirit-inspired messages, but examine everything carefully…hang on to what is [of God] and Avoid every kind of evil” (1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 CEB personalized and emphasized).

Ekklēsia, be like Christ and be governed by Holy Ghost.
